Prayagraj. On Wednesday, Chief Magistrate (CJM) D.K. Presented in Gautam’s court. The police demanded that these three accused be given in police custody for seven days.
District Government Advocate Gulab Chandra Agrahari said that the police have sought seven-day police custody of the accused in the murder of Atiq and Ashraf. The order of the court is yet to come. Agrahari said that amidst heavy security on Wednesday morning, these accused were handed over to CJM D.K. Gautam was produced in the court and after about an hour’s appearance he was taken away by the police from here.
He said that after the production, the accused were escorted out of the court premises. According to him, this was done as a precautionary measure. It is noteworthy that on Saturday, while taking Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf to Colvin Hospital for medical examination, these three accused shot them dead. An FIR was registered against Lavlesh Tiwari, Mohit and Arun Kumar Maurya under sections 302, 307 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 3,7, 25, 27 of the Arms Act.
On Sunday itself, these accused were produced before the remand magistrate from where they were sent to Naini Jail in judicial custody for 14 days. On Monday, these accused were shifted to Pratapgarh Jail due to security reasons.
