ISLAMABAD: Parliamentarians visit CPEC projects in Sind, called Thar as “bastion” of Pakistan future Energy Security” as Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said Pakistan’s natural wealth key to revival national economy instead of permanent addiction on IMF.
The delegation was organized by the Pakistan-China Institute (PCI), in cooperation with Power of China in Port Qasim and Shanghai Electric and Sind Electric Coal Mining Company (SECMC) in Tar.
The delegation was headed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman of the Senate Defense and PCI Committee. During the three-day visit, the delegation first visited Power China project in the port of Qasim, which generates 1320 megawatts of electricity. Power China CEO Guo welcomed the delegation and briefed them on V project.

Then on second day of tour of CPEC projects in Sindh, the delegation flew to Thar, where first visited Sind Electric Coal Mining Company (SECMC), which is a joint private-public partnership with support of Sindh government and China watching driving of dump trucks women, in living example of Empowerment of women.
Delegation also visited the newly created 1320 megawatt power factory set up with Shanghai Electric investment. China total investments amounted to $26 billion, creating 85,000 jobs, including 12,000 in Thar plus 28,000 Pakistani students are now studying in China, as a result in huge socio-economic transformation of country, thanks to CPEC.

Speaking to workers of CPEC projects in Port Qasim and Thar, Senator Mushahid Hussain called CPEC “the most transformative initiative”. for economic development in V last 30 years since it formed the basis for energy security, employment and changing lives and livelihoods of V people of Pakistan’.
Senator Mushahid Hussain said that “Pakistan has vast natural resources, including mineral wealth, natural gas and marine resources, which need to be exploited. for Blue economy.

“It was a revelation experience to see the impact of CPEC on local communities and progress existence made on these projects,” said Senator Kurratul Ayn Marri.

Senator Dr. Zarqa Suharvardi Taimur said: “The visit of the delegation was unique opportunity to see a positive effect of projects on local communities, especially for women. It was inspiring to see women dump truck driving in Thar coal mines.
