Former US Special Representative for Reconciliation in Afghanistan and prominent Islamabad Security Dialogue guest speaker Zalmay Khalilzad called on Main of Army Headquarters (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at headquarters on Friday, military said.
During the meeting, it is important of mutual interest, regional security situation, including Afghanistan, and bilateral cooperation in various discussed fields, military media wings, ISPR, said in statement.
Commenting on Situation in Afghanistan, army commander once again emphasized need for global rapprochement and sincere efforts to avert an impending humanitarian catastrophe. He also thanked Khalilzad for participation in the Islamabad Security Dialogue.
The visit was highly appreciated by the Pakistani role and efforts to ensure regional stability. He promised play his role for farther improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Former US Ambassador expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the Islamabad Security Dialogue.
