CELEB-obsessed cop Beau Lamarre is claimed to have sent disturbing decoy messages via his ex Jesse Baird’s phone after allegedly killing him.

Former Aussie TV host Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, were last seen in Paddington, a suburb of Sydney, on Monday.

Lamarre, 28, handed himself in to cops shortly after 10.30am on Friday – two days after the bloodied clothes of the missing couple  were found in a skip bin in Sydney.

He has since been charged with two counts of murder and is now being accused of sending text messages from his ex-boyfriend’s phone.

Two lengthy texts were sent from Mr Baird’s phone days after his apparent death, causing authorities to assume he was still alive, The Sunday Telegraph reports.

The messages reportedly informed told Mr Baird’s housemates he was moving from Sydney to Perth.

According to the publication, one text was about collecting furniture from his Paddington house and storing it since he was relocating to Perth on Sunday, while the other was supposedly about leaving his belongings on the street.

“They [the texts] made us think they were still alive,” an unnamed police source told The Sunday Telegraph.

During a press conference on Friday with detective superintendent Daniel Doherty, a reporter claimed Mr Baird’s colleagues were getting text messages from him until late Tuesday night.

Mr Doherty said: “Who actually had attributed use of that phone is still to be established as part of our inquiry.

“Again a lot of information has come to hand, there’s a lot of evidence that still has to go through [and] that includes phone data and vehicle movements and most importantly trying to locate the bodies.”

Lamarre previously dated Mr Baird and cops have been told that their break-up was “bitter”.

Mr Baird reportedly expressed concerns for his safety and said he was being stalked.

It comes as police divers continued their frantic search to find the bodies of the TV host and his lover.

New South Wales Police divers yesterday scoured a small waterway in suburban Newcastle, some 100 miles away from the scene of the alleged murder.

On Saturday morning, a part of Lambton Street in Newcastle remained sealed off as two divers were seen on their hands and knees, examining a nearby stream.

Forensics teams were also seen carefully analysing every inch of the scene.

Police suspect Lamarre was in Newcastle on Thursday night before turning himself in at an eastern Sydney police station on Friday.

According to cops, Lamarre allegedly used his police gun to kill Mr Baird and Mr Davies at Mr Baird’s home in Paddington, Sydney, on Monday night before dumping their bodies.

Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty told reporters Lamarre was on-duty at the time – but called into work sick on Tuesday after the alleged murders.

The detective said “a large amount of blood was located” at the crime scene – along with a bullet matching Lamarre’s work-issued gun.

“This has now been physically matched to a NSW Police firearm and forms part of the evidence for the alleged facts to face court for this 28-year-old man,” Mr Doherty said.

The detective also confirmed that a white Toyota HiAce was found on Friday morning in Grays Point in Sydney’s south.

He added that it is “important that we get the movements in relation to that van as hopefully we can find the bodies”.

“We believe there is sufficient evidence to proceed with those charges due to the evidence we have up-to-date,” Mr Doherty said.

“It’s really important that we do locate the bodies, not only for the cause of death but the answers for the family because they are still grieving and are starting to grieve now.”

On Saturday, friends and supporters transformed Mr Baird’s home into a temporary memorial, laying flowers and cards outside to show their support.

Some of the flowers were left on the street, while others were placed on the railings outside the terrace house.

One card left at the site says: “Lukey and Jesse.” Rest in peace, lads. We’ll miss you. “So much.”

The celeb chaser cop has been in the spotlight before – known for taking selfies with famous faces such as Taylor Swift, and Harry Styles.
