The NSW premier, Gladys Berejiklian, has flagged new restrictions will be announced today as the state tries to contain ‘high-risk situation’. Follow live

South Australia and Western Australia have asked for caps on the number of international arrivals coming into their state, now that Melbourne is taking a break from accepting international arrivals for hotel quarantine to concentrate on dealing with the outbreak in the state.
