One of the oldest trade fairs in the world, “Canton Fair” is going on these days in Guangzhou city of China. It is also known as China’s Export-Import ie Import-Export Fair. It is the oldest and largest trade fair in China, which is held every year in Canton, Guangzhou City, the capital of Guangdong Province. This fair was started in 1957 i.e. 67 years ago and since then it has been organized twice a year, first in spring season and second in winter season. This year in 2023, the 133rd edition of the Canton Fair trade fair is being held. The first phase of the spring season lasted for five days from 15 to 19 April. The fair was awaited by people and visitors from the world of enterprise and business, which included business community from all walks of life. Therefore, in the five days of the first phase, about 1.35 lakh visitors have registered their presence in the fair.

Guangdong Province is located in southern China and its capital, Guangzhou, is also famous as the city that hosted the 2010 Asian Games. This city is situated at the mouth of the Pearl River and is known worldwide as a trading port. The city is also recognized by the 604-metre-high Canton Tower, which was once the tallest tower in the world. Currently, the Canton Tower is famous as the second tallest building in China and the fifth tallest in the world. From 2013 to 2015, Guangzhou City has also been awarded the title of China’s Best Business City.

The special feature of the trade theme exhibition of the Canton Fair is that items related to the general public and used in everyday life can also be seen here. The latest products of the business world and the high technology associated with it are also seen here. This time, a total of 20 display areas decorated with different equipment and materials have been set up in this exhibition for entrepreneurs, traders and visitors. In which things like household appliances, bathroom accessories and hardware are also included. Also, this year’s special thing is that this exhibition is in offline mode, so many new entrepreneurs and business class are also participating in it to display their products. This year their number has reached four thousand. Special enthusiasm is also being seen in all the sections associated with the fair. Businessmen from all over the world who do business have reached here these days, that is why about 13 thousand companies have exhibited their products in the Canton Fair. About 4500 new exhibiting companies and establishments are also included in these.

The first phase of the Canton Fair concluded on 19th April and after receiving a great response from the business establishments and visitors, now everyone is looking forward to the second phase of the Canton Fair which is starting from Sunday 23rd April and will continue till Thursday 27th April. Whereas the third phase of this fair will be organized from May 1 to 5.

The magnitude and diversity of this fair can be clearly gauged from the statistics of the 122nd Canton Fair, in which more than 60,000 booths were set up, business establishments from more than 200 countries took part, more than 1.5 lakh miscellaneous The products were included in the exhibition and fair and around 2 million visitors got a close look at the products of more than 25 thousand exhibitors.

This huge trade fair is organized twice a year in the months of April and October for the convenience of the visitors and business class. If we look at the dates of the Canton Fair to be held in the winter season this year itself, the first phase will be held from 15 to 19 October. The second phase will be held from October 23 to 27 and the third and last phase from October 31 to November 4. It is believed that by October, global air traffic services will open in more ways. Also, the global economy and international trade are expected to boom, so more participation is expected in the Canton Fair to be held in October.
