Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg Told Jim Cramer On Wednesday, he wants people to come to his spooky world of virtual reality to spend their hard-earned cash on his digital trash.
The Robotic Executive joined CNBC for an exclusive in which he explains how he plans to make more money. He told Cramer that his Metaverse will use “virtual and augmented reality” to give people an opportunity to “express themselves.”
To screw up was all ears and told the tech billionaire he’d be open to trying out some parts of a virtual reality life.
Zuckerberg explained that he wanted people to take real money and spend it to live in what looks like an empty digital pit:
Our North Star is that by the end of the decade we hope to get to about a billion people in the metaverse each doing hundreds of dollars in commerce, buying digital goods, digital content, different things to express themselves .
Be it clothes for their avatar, different digital products for their virtual home or things to decorate their virtual conference room. Utilities to be able to be more productive in virtual and augmented reality and across the metaverse.
Zuckerberg has promised that his digital playground will provide plenty of job opportunities for coders and users.
For anyone wondering what a Metaverse is, Mashable at your back:
According to Mark Zuckerberg, humanity will migrate into the metaverse in the future, leaving reality behind for a world that we entirely create and rule. He claims that there will come a time when virtual worlds will be so absorbing and convenient that we won’t want to leave, at which point the metaverse will emerge.
Many Americans are understandably struggling to budget for food, gas and other basics right now. That leaves out the millions of people who can no longer compete for single-family homes.
The Facebook founder apparently sees an opportunity to cash in on the pain.
It remains to be seen how profitable a virtual reality universe will be, but Zuckerberg wants to spend the next decade building it.
Hopefully by then Meta goes bankrupt and Zuckerberg is forced to get as frugal as those he wants to pay him for virtual “utilities”.
If there is hope for humanity, people will react to the metaverse by logging out and walking out. Maybe some will make new friends and real memories.
Could you imagine taking off a pair of virtual reality goggles after hours of navigating a fake world and realizing you’re as alone as Mark Zuckerberg looks?
