Islamabad police conducted an operation inside the parliament lodges after the members of Ansarul Islam, a volunteer wing of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), joined the building in large numbers on Thursday.
During the operation, the police made 10 arrests. However, according to the Federal Capital Police, two MNA JUI-F including Salahuddin Ayubi and Jamaluddin got along well with the arrested and insisted on being arrested together with the JUI force.
Video on social media showed police officers conducting a search inside the building analyzing, searching, watching for “The only ones in uniforms ”, making arrests and forcing JUI-F workers out of the lodges.
Previously, the inspector general of Islamabad of Muhammad Ahsan Younus Police took I notify of the group presence within the building and suspended the officials in charge to D-Chowk, under whose supervision the group members had entered the lodges.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has accused JUI-F of bringing workers of Ansarul Islam inside the lodges.
Speaking with a private news channel, he said: “People were hidden inside the lodges. We still wanted the matter must be resolved peacefully … but they beat up and blocked up police officers and did not deliver over Ansarul Islam members ”.
“We are also trying to prevent others from coming to parliament,” he added.
Fazl instructs the workers to do this head to the capital
Later, JUI-F chief Fazlur Rahman came to the lodges and called on his party workers to get together in the capital.
“I want to have my say party workers to reach Islamabad or block roads in their city and resist this incompetent government, ”he said.
“We demand that our MNAs and others are released and that (the authorities) apologize. We have declared war and we will not forgive them for this terrorism ”, him added.
PML-N requires release of JUI-F workers
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif condemned the operation and asked for immediate expulsion of Police of the Lodges of the Parliament.
“Close the residence of members of the parliament And [open] bullying. Torture and police arrests of parliamentarians are highly condemnable, ”he said.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz told Islamabad police should refrain from becoming a “tool” of PM Imran and his government.
“Take the blame for such actions based on insanity are not appropriate. [You] will have to suffer losses, ”he warned.
