Russia has overtaken the United States in the production of mineral fertilizers

The volumes of mineral fertilizers produced in Russia are significantly higher than those in the United States. Andrey Guryev, chairman of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers (RAPU), announced this during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on April 27.

He noted that the production of all types of fertilizers in the country over the past 10 years has increased by 40%, writes Izvestia.

“We have overtaken the United States, India in terms of production and today we are the largest manufacturer in the world after China,” Guryev said, calling the fact a great and important achievement.

The expert also added that today the Russian Federation occupies a leading position in the export of mineral fertilizers in the world. According to the President of RAPU, this has been achieved, among other things, thanks to significant investments in the industry in recent years.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the situation around the grain deal. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry described it as a dead end.
