Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix movie franchise, Rebel Moon, has new developments. A new trailer is set to debut at Gamescom on August 22nd, 2023. Snyder made the announcement through a tweet. But that’s not all. Recent news has revealed that the first two movies have received new titles. The first Rebel Moon movie, henceforth,will be called Child of Fire, and the second one, The Scargiver. The second movie is eyeing an early release in April 2024.

The project has been in the making for several years. Netflix has ordered the franchise for two films as of now, although they have plans in place for at least three movies. Both the films were shot consecutively over 2022.

The first movie releases on December 22nd. It will have a limited theatrical release as well. Although the official confirmation of this news is still awaited. The release dates were announced back in January, and the anticipation has bubbled up since. The producers have been releasing glimpses of the film throughout the year to keep the hype on.
The next trailer is set to come at Gamescom. It’s a prominent video game event that will be held in Germany in late August 2023. Although we don’t know when exactly the trailer will be featured, it’s going to be on the opening night hosted by Geoff Keighley.
Interestingly, the title, “A Child of Fire,” isn’t entirely new. Netflix Brazil’s marketing for the TUDUM 2023 event in June included a similar subtitle, “A Menina do Fogo,” which translates to “The Child [girl] of Fire.” Rumors suggest that Netflix is gearing up for an April 2024 release for “Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver.”
