Numerous Operational Support Forces Escape from Omdurman in Sudanese Army

The Sudanese army has announced the escape of a large number of Rapid Support Forces from the Omdurman area to the west.

In a statement posted on Facebook today, Wednesday, he accused the Rapid Support Forces of violating the truce in residential areas and looting banks and shops near the Al-Hilal stadium in Omdurman.

He also said that the Indian ambassador informed him about the storming of the embassy and the looting of its property.

This comes amid mutual accusations ahead of a truce due to begin on the fourth of this month and last for 7 days.

Fighting that broke out on 15 April between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) was accompanied by air strikes and artillery battles.
To Khartoum and the neighboring cities of Omdurman and Bahri, leaving the streets without any signs of civilian life.

500 killed

To date, at least 500 people have died in the fighting and thousands have been injured, but the number of casualties could be much higher as a result of the ongoing fighting.

Meanwhile, thousands of people have fled Khartoum and its environs for other, safer states due to food and drinking water shortages, power outages and high fuel prices.
