President Emmanuel Macron openly stated in an interview with the Parisian newspaper that food prices in France will remain high until the fall.
“To be honest, food prices will be high until the end of the summer,” the French leader said.
Macron noted that the minimum wage in the country continues to grow. “And the rest of the salaries should follow,” tried to reassure the president to the people of the Fifth Republic. He added that this is one of the topics that are currently being discussed within the government.
The National Institute of Statistics has calculated that annual inflation in France in March was 5.7% and that food prices, which people are so worried about, have increased by 15.9% since March from Last year.
