ISLAMABAD: A delegation of UK leader of Kashmir and Pakistani origin on On Monday he praised the efforts of Pakistani government and Chairman of the Kashmir Committee for raising the dispute over Kashmir al international level.
The delegation was led by the Mayor of Birmingham, Chaudhary Muhammad Afzal together with Councilor Waseem Zafar and Cabinet Member for Transport and environment Birmingham City Council, among others.
The delegation represented the largest Kashmir diaspora community in the worldresident in Birmingham.
Delegates praised on Shehryar Afridi for adding new force to the Kashmiri narrative.
The chairman of the Kashmir Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi deplored the fact than the tyranny of India in Illegally Occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was being strengthened.
“The line of Control is not just a line dividing the celestial valley of Kashmir but it is also a line that, metaphorically and in many cases literally, describes the division of Kashmir between heaven and hell. On the Indian side of the LOC in Jammu and Kashmir are clouds of misfortune and darkness while the other side in Azad Kashmir is growing towards pace and prosperity, “he said.
Afridi said so in Illegally occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir, Indian occupation forces are employing everyone tools of genocide against the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“While on the other side of the LOC, Pakistan is putting an all out effort for raising the standard of Human life for Kashmir ”, he added.
Afridi beyond added That on one side the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir were enjoying the fruits of development while the residents in The IIOJK Indians were facing shotguns, humiliations and atrocities every single day.
“In Azad Jammu and Kashmir the citizens are re-enacting sports and parties while in IIOJK citizens are buried by their loved ones. When mothers and children they are enjoying the festivities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, IIOJK have had cases of half- widows and half orphans are covered up by the illegal Indian occupation forces, “he said added.
Kashmir Committee Chair Shehryar Khan Afridi assessed the delegation of the role of the Parliamentary Commission of Role of Kashmir of Kashmir Committee in raising awareness of the Kashmir controversy globally. He said the committee is composed of 28 members of both Houses of Parliamentary and parliamentary supremacy is ensured through operation of the Parliamentary Commission.
He informed the delegation on new initiatives launched by the Kashmir Committee to relaunch and revitalize the narrative on Kashmir. He said the world he is noticing it of the fact That in Illegally occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir, tyranny is order of the day in where the Kashmiris suffer genocide and their voices are silenced and war crimes committed by the occupational regime.
“But in Azad Kashmir, there is development, party and a thriving nation. Recently held first season of Kashmir Premier League (KPL), il true face of Kashmiri culture and heritage have been projected into world public “, he added.
Afridi also shared his experiences of his visit to the UK for lobbying on Dispute over Kashmir. He said the Kashmir Committee did not just take all interested parties of Dispute over Kashmir on board but also made them a part of the work of the Committee and awareness-raising efforts on Kashmir controversy at all levels.
He also added playing the United Nations like a silent spectator when there is world power it invades a smaller country and this raises serious questions over fate of the United Nations.
“I’m afraid the UN may face a similar fate like League of the Nations if it fails play his role in decades-old disputes like Jammu and Kashmir, “noted Afridi.
He said unfortunately a humanitarian issue of Kashmir has been politicized due to Indian hegemonic projects in South Asia like Modi is looking to launch India like net security provider for the region.
He said the world it is heading towards the same phase which was persistent immediately before World War II.
“We constantly remember the world about misery being faced from Kashmir people. The exhibition by EU Disinfo Lab proved that the Indian state narrative is based on blatant and unfounded lies and does not hold. The world needs to rise above petty personal interests e give human rights a priority. Otherwise the situation could lead to further complicate the conflict ”, he concluded.
