Like a Dragon or the Yakuza Series started back in 2005 with Kiryu Kazuma as its sole protagonist. Since then the game has had multiple sequels and spin-offs. The latest installment, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is going to be the 8th game of the series and it will be released for XBox and PC early in 2024.
In the XBox Games Showcase yesterday a trailer for the new game was shown. The Sega game has revealed little detail about the game. The trailer for the RPG opens up on a Hawaii-like beach where the main character of the Yakuza series, Ichiban Kasuga, wakes up naked, and completely clueless.
Some visual props are used to safeguard Kasuga’s privates from our eyes. The trailer says nothing much about the premise of the game. All we see is people reacting to Kasuga’s lack of underwear, and his own cluelessness at the situation.

The Like a Dragon/Yakuza series has a fairly complicated storyline spread across multiple games and spinoffs. It is often hard to get the chronology right while playing the games. But any game from the series that you can pick is usually fun. And the GTA-like open world adventures definitely add to the enjoyment. In fact, the opening scene of the trailer, even the colors and the overall aesthetics remind you of the GTA games.
