Intense Arab Rivalries Erupt in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup

The draw for the Asian Cup 2024, which took place today, Thursday, in the capital of Qatar, Doha, resulted in an exciting confrontation between the Arab teams.

The draw for the group stage, according to the official website of the Asian Football Confederation, was as follows:

Group A: Qatar, China, Tajikistan, Lebanon

Group B: Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria, India

Group C: Iran, UAE, Hong Kong, Palestine

Group D: Japan, Iraq, Vietnam, Indonesia.

Group E: South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan, Bahrain.

Group six: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Oman, Kyrgyzstan

The 24 teams that qualified for the finals were divided into 6 groups, each group consisting of 4 teams, and the first places in the groups were approved according to the AFC classification, which is currently led by the Japanese team.

The leaders and runners-up advance to the second round, in addition to the 4 teams that are the best of the third-placed teams.

The knockout rounds start with 16 teams and the rest of the rounds are played on a knockout basis.
