Introduction

The General Authority of Civil Aviation, Zakat, the Tax and Customs Authority and the General Authority of Ports signed today a memorandum of understanding in the field of logistical communication between air and sea ports at the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority in Riyadh.

Aim of the MoU

The MoU aims to provide a logistics link between air and sea ports, which facilitates the smooth movement of goods by sea and air, supports operations and logistics services, and strengthens the key position of the Kingdom in the global logistics field, and will also enhance the level of logistics and customs services provided by all these sectors.

Logistics Link Between Air and Sea Ports

The Memorandum of Cooperation provides for the completion of logistics links between air and sea ports, which will improve the level of logistics services provided to all beneficiaries of all categories by implementing realistic experiments in the transport of goods between land and sea ports, as well as cooperation with relevant authorities to solve any problems that may occur during these operations.

Revitalizing and Enhancing the Link Between Air and Sea Transport

The MoU also aims to support the logistics movement by revitalizing and enhancing the link between air and sea transport through the Kingdom’s airports and ports, investing in the Kingdom’s strategic position, linking regional and global markets and benefiting from integration. and the interdependence between maritime and air transport, in strengthening the position of the Kingdom and supporting the global economic movement.

Increasing Coordination and Cooperation

The memorandum also includes increasing the level of coordination and cooperation in the field of information and resource exchange, implementation of joint programs and initiatives, as well as cooperation by facilitating access to logistics services for beneficiaries.

Creating a Unified Framework

The MoU will help create a unified framework to achieve the common goals of the three sectors, raise the standards of logistics services in the Kingdom, and unite efforts and support one of the most important goals of the Kingdom’s 2030 Strategy. for the Kingdom to become a global logistics platform, expanding the capabilities of the logistics sector in its various fields.
