First Processing of Plastic Waste-Derived Oil into Round Polymers
For the first time in the Middle East and North Africa, Aramco, Total Energy and SABIC have completed the first processing of plastic waste-derived oil into round polymers.
Oil made from plastic waste was processed at the SATORP refinery, jointly owned by Saudi Aramco and Total Energies, in Jubail.
This process allows the use of unsorted plastic that is difficult to recycle mechanically, helping to solve the problem of waste generated by the use of single-use plastic.
