Ex-MP who led UOC temple seizure dies in accident in Ukraine

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy of Ukraine, well-known lawyer, one of the drafters of the Ukrainian Constitution Volodymyr Stretovich died in an accident on April 6. The tragedy was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to colleagues of the deceased in parliament.

The accident occurred at the 1460th km of the Kiev-Chop road, near the village of Kamenka, Zhytomyr region. Police say Stretovich, 64, was a passenger in a Toyota RAV that was hit by an oncoming MAN TGX. Two 66-year-old cross passengers were taken to the intensive care unit of the Zhytomyr regional hospital.

According to Ukrainian journalist Miroslava Berdnik, her words are quoted by RIA Novosti, on the eve of the accident, Stretovich led the seizure of the temple of the canonical UOC.
