The pair were found desperately malnourished and in need of immediate medical attention on March 15.

They allegedly wandered off to hunt birds in Manicore, Brazil, on February 18.

The Manicoré Fire Department set up a search and rescue team to find the boys, but later called off the hunt after failing to locate the lads.

Yet the Palmeira indigenous community continued the search.

A man chopping wood in the Amazon rainforest then discovered the boys around a month later, local media reports.

They were rushed to the local Town Hall by boat and were expected to be transferred by air to the state capital Manaus today, the Public Security Secretariat confirmed.

Pictures appear to show the pair extremely thin and in need of medical treatment.

Health experts passed on medical guidelines to doctors in Manicore to make sure the children were safe.

A video also appears to show a large crowd gathered at the scene.

They seem to be watching the boys as they are transported from the boat to an ambulance.
