Boeing CEO quits after plane-maker is plunged into crisis over jet failings and death of company whistleblower

BOEING CEO Dave Calhoun will be stepping down in a major shakeup for the troubled aviation giant.

Calhoun is set to be leaving at the end of the year, with other senior figures also resigning in the coming months.

The planemaker also said that Stan Deal, Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO, would retire and Stephanie Pope would lead the business, effective immediately.

Boeing shares were up 2.2% in premarket trading.
