Responding to a question from the media about the measures he is prepared to take to avoid a default, the American leader clarified that he did not rule out any measure, “except the default itself”. Biden also said he was not ruling out the possibility of a short-term increase in the national debt ceiling.
Earlier, McCarthy said that during talks with the president to raise the national debt ceiling, no progress had been made. According to him, the next round of negotiations will take place this Friday.
