P.K. Subban and Joe Thornton, two former NHL players, appear in a recent iPhone 14 advertisement that Apple posted to its Canadian YouTube channel. In the video, the two scour an outdoor ice hockey rink in the countryside for Subban’s missing teeth.
They search through the night for Subban’s tooth while using their iPhones as flashlights but eventually realize they haven’t found it. The advertisement implies that the long battery life of the iPhone 14 Plus allows for the search to happen.
In the video description, Apple writes, “Our longest battery life yet on iPhone 14 Plus – because when the search is on, and you need it the most.” Relax, this is an iPhone.
According to Apple’s technical specifications, the iPhone 14 Plus has a battery life of up to 100 hours for audio playing, 20 hours for streaming video, and 26 hours for offline video playback. The iPhone 14 Plus offers the greatest battery life of any model ever for many functions. However, Apple claims that the iPhone 14 Pro Max can play offline videos for up to 29 hours. This is most likely because of the device’s power-saving ProMotion display.

Following the 2021–22 NHL season, Subban and Thornton announced their retirements.
