A foreign “sleeper” agent in Australia fed information back to spymasters about expatriate dissidents that led to them and their families being harassed, the boss of Australia’s domestic intelligence agency Asio said.
Mike Burgess delivered his first annual threat assessment on Monday evening, in which he also said the threat of rightwing extremism was real and growing, and the number of overall terrorism leads under investigation doubled over the past year.
