Russia and Turkey explore options for grain exports
Discussion on Grain Exports
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed options for grain exports from the West and Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
Russia officially notified Turkey about the dissolution of the coordinating center for the export of Ukrainian grain in Istanbul.
Lavrov said that the termination of the grain export agreement meant “the removal of security guarantees” in the Black Sea.
Alternative Options for Grain Delivery
And the Russian news agency Sputnik reported that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan other options for delivering grain to countries in need after the end of the agreement to export grain through the Black Sea.
And the Turkish Anatolia agency previously reported that Fidan had discussed with Lavrov by phone the latest developments related to the grain agreement.
As Russia’s deputy delegate to the UN Security Council said, we will continue to export grain to developing countries.
