Famous journalist, Geraldo Rivera parted ways with Fox News after he was fired from the program “The Five.”
I’m not going to be on ‘The Five,’ says Geraldo Rivera on Twitter, mentioning that he was fired from The Five.
And, as a result, I quit Fox” Rivera further revealed in the video he uploaded on Twitter.
Bumpy day on the North Atlantic. Anyway, I got fired from @TheFive so I quit Fox. After 23 years tomorrow Fox and Friends could be my last appearance on the network. Thanks for the memories. pic.twitter.com/74Qgalz8sF

The dismissal came on the heels of when Rivera said that his time on The Five had come to an end. A long-time fixture of the network, Rivera was serving the channel for 22 years.
Just moments before Rivera announced, Fox News announced the same that they were parting ways with Geraldo Rivera. A spokesperson announced, We reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks and look forward to celebrating him on Fox & Friends Friday morning which will be his last appearance on the network.”
In his final appearance on Fox News channel, he thanked the staff and paid his tributes for his service of more than two decades to the network. In his words,
I am honored, I love Fox, I love the people at Fox, and I always will. I was a product of affirmative action over half a century ago. It will impact many people of color.”

Rivera was hired in 2001 following the terrorist attacks as he wished to be a war correspondent. Later, he hosted the show The Five as a part-time panelist. In the show, he was required to represent a liberal point of view.
During an interaction with a leading media house, Rivera talked about his suspension from The Five Show shortly after he criticised some of fired prime-time host Tucker Carlson’s theories. Meanwhile, during the same interview, he announced about quitting the show.
Meanwhile, Rivera is going to turn 80 on July 4th. However, he is not characterizing his departure from the channel as retirement.
