American scientists have developed a new type of antibiotic capable of fighting drug-resistant superbugs. This is reported by CNN on its website.
Scientists created a machine learning program that taught itself to recognize the structure of molecules.
The antibiotic killed Actinetobacter baumanii, a deadly bacterium that lives on doorknobs and other store surfaces and causes stubborn skin infections.
Scientists fear that the bacterium could evolve under the influence of this new antibiotic and develop resistance to it. FAN.
