Xi Jinping then drove to the Nanwanying social community in the Rongtong area, where more than 5,000 displaced people from both Anxing and Rongchang counties were resettled. The President visited the Sewa Kendra and the Community Canteen and interacted warmly with the community staff, common people, community elders over food and praised the community pension service. Xi told people that he is always concerned about resettlement people, he was very happy to see that everyone is living well. During his visit to this community, Xi Jinping specially visited the home of rehabilitated citizen Li Ching. Li Ching told the President that in November 2021, he had moved into this new house with his family. The house is very clean, very comfortable to live in and the family life is getting better and better.
In addition, Xi Jinping also inspected the Xiong’an Intercity Station, and the construction site of the International Trade Center project, etc. He said that traffic is the blood of modern cities. The city can grow healthily only when the blood is unobstructed. We should work hard to build a three-dimensional comprehensive transportation network, make full use of underground space, and strive to build a future city without “urban diseases”.
In the afternoon of May 10, Xi Jinping came to the Xiong’an Exhibition Center, where he learned about the overall planning and construction progress of the Xiong’an New Area, and the ecological environment regime of Paiyangtian Lake. He said that both the present and the future will benefit from the governance and protection of the ecological environment of Paiyangtien Lake. It should be planned holistically and pursued continuously.
Afterwards, Xi Jinping presided over a seminar on promoting the construction of high-standard and high-quality Xiong’an New Zone at the exhibition center.
