Regarding the industry sub-sectors in March, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 3% compared to the previous month, the manufacturing sector index increased by 6.1% and the production and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning. the sector index increased by 1.2%.

At the end of March, the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology completed the count of losses of infrastructure, superstructures and equipment used in the industrial sector in seismic zones.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Waran said industry losses in earthquake-affected areas are estimated at around $9 billion, less than actual losses, which may be higher .

The steel industry is the area most affected by the earthquake, as factories in the south of the country are expected to remain closed, with production lines halted as workers try to live with the repercussions of this crisis.
