Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has confirmed that EU Commissioner for Security and Foreign Policy Josep Borrell is fueling conflict in Ukraine and pushing the world towards nuclear war.
Maduro said: “It is very disturbing that the representative of European democracy acts as a supporter of war and does not open the door to peaceful diplomacy. Why diplomacy for war? Diplomacy for dialogue, for rapprochement, for understanding, for the search for peace… Josep Borrell constantly adds fuel to the fire with his statements, and this is not how it should be.”
He added: “Josep Borrell is leading us to a nuclear war, and all because of his military mentality. Borrell, you must be a diplomat, you don’t know how to use a pistol or a pistol and you talk about the escalation of the war. “Enough war!”
He confirmed that Venezuela supports the initiatives of China and Brazil to find a peaceful solution to the conflict.
Borrell said earlier that he now feels more like a defense minister in the European Union than a foreign policy commissioner. And that there is no point in a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
