The police have opened a criminal investigation against a 57-year-old resident of the village of Ternovka, in the eponymous district of the Voronezh region, who, in revenge, poured boiling water on her cohabitant, causing serious damage to her his health. Law enforcement was notified of the incident from the hospital, where a woman was admitted with 1-2 degree burns to her face, neck and chest. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Voronezh region, the total area of body burns was 12%.
During the investigation, it was established that on January 13, New Year’s Eve, the suspect, along with his 47-year-old cohabitant, drank alcohol. During the libations, an old conflict resurfaces between them, and they argue again. The woman began to insult her lover, and in retaliation he poured boiling water from the kettle and splashed her in the face. After that, the roommate, as if nothing had happened, went to bed, and in the morning he did not even ask about the well-being of his beloved.
The village woman, scalded with boiling water, suffered from unbearable pain all night, because no lotion helped. Then the victim turned to doctors for help.
Police arrested the suspect, who was at his home. During his interrogation, he confessed everything and explained that he had committed such an atrocity because he was very drunk. A criminal case has been opened against the man under part 1 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“intentionally inflicts serious bodily harm”), which provides for a penalty of up to 8 years in prison. At the moment, the villager has been released on bail.
