KARACHI: Federation of Employers of Pakistan (EFP) on Friday said ban on import of minor luxuries under the “emergency economic plan” are critical for Pakistan flourish.
“This decision through government prohibit import it for improvement of economic situation in our country and the deterioration of the balance of payments,” said Ismail Suttar, President of the EFP.
Sattar said the EFP believes that this import ban should applies to all imports of essential/luxury items.
“WITH dollar passing the mark of 200 rupees, imports became expensive as always. As a resultban on all non-essential/luxury items will be help speed up recovery of Pakistan’s position on the balance of payments,” he said. added. “This decision would also help increase domestic employment and increase demand for local goods. He said government need to take a few more unpopular decisions save the country from the economic crisis.
