Brian Tierney was out in the tenth round.

Ballarnet Advisor received 3272 first preference votesupcoming of partner Sinead McLaughlin who was 3189.

Foyle Assembly elections, eighth stage

Sinéad McLaughlin of the SDLP has made significant progress of team mate Brian Tierney after receiving 786.53 of Rachel Ferguson transfers.

Now she is 526.42. votes forthcoming of advisor to Ballarnett in sixth position – just outside seats.

UUP candidate Ryan McCready closes the gap on Gary Middleton after receiving 282.7 from Ferguson and now 234.54. behind DUP man.

Aontu candidate Emmett Doyle was eliminated and transfers of his 2697.33 polls are now to be distributed.

DUP are full of hope of bringing in some supporters of life transfers from Aontu, while Ballyarnett advisor Brian Tierney could benefit from transfers from his county constituency (DEA) counterpart.

transfers of former Aontu member and independent Anne McCloskey saw the party candidate in Foyle Emmett Doyle surpassed Alliance’s Rachel Ferguson who dropped out in the seventh round.

At the same time, only 0.87 of a vote now separates two SDLP candidates, Sinéad McLaughlin and Brian Tierney. with in former now a little ahead.

Unionist Traditional Voice nominee Elizabeth Neely was eliminated and her surplus 501.4 votes are distributed.

It is likely that they will benefit other union candidates Gary Middleton (DUP) and Ryan McCready (UUP), but they are unlikely to change the way voting is done.

SDLP received 30.8% (-1%), 1.8 quotas.

DUP won 8.7% (-4.7%), 0.5 quota.

UUP won 7.9% (+4.2%), 0.4 quotas.

People Before Profit received 5.5% (-5.2%), 0.3 quotas; Alliance won 4.7% (+2.8%), 0.28 quotas; and Aontu 4.2 percent (+4.2 percent), quota 0.25.

Mr. Delargy exceeded the quota by 1,660 people. with a total first preference survey of 9471.

SDLP candidate Mark H. Durkan also recruited over quota with 7999 votes.

Sinn Féin second candidate Ciara Ferguson received 5913 votes.

Two main trade union parties were closely linked after the spectacular performance Ryan McCready of UUP.

Mr McCready got 3744 votes behind DUP candidate Gary Middleton on 4101.

The other two SDLP candidates Brian Tierney (3272) and Sinead McLaughlin (3189) had little to share.

Sean Harkin of People Before Profit is unlikely in mix for 5th place so far on 2621 first preference votes.

The remaining candidates voted as follows: Rachel Ferguson (Alliance) – 2220; Emmet Doyle (Aontu) 2000; Dr. Ann McCloskey (independent) 854; Collie McLaughlin (IRSP) 766; Elizabeth Neely (TUV) 499; and Gillian Hamilton (green) – 215.

AT total 46,864 valid votes were cast. Quota set at 7811.
