MOSCOW: together with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak with his delegation met with Prime Minister Imran Khan here and discussed the economic relations between Pakistan and Russia, with a special focus on cooperation in the field of power.
Highlighting the government reforms undertaken in different sectors with the purpose of improving business environment The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Russian companies and businesses would benefit from those in Pakistan improved business environment and invest in different sectors of of Pakistan economy.
The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of The Pakistan-Stream pipeline as an economic flagship project between Pakistan and Russia. The two parts also cooperation discussed on potential energy-related projects.
Express satisfaction on current level of cooperation in the fields of energy, tradeinvestments, railways etc, both sides agreed that the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) was the key platform to further advance specific projects.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister had an interactive interview session with notable businessmen of Pakistan and Russia over dinner. The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan like a market of more of 220 million offers opportunities for trade and investment.
The Prime Minister has stated that the next Investment Conference will be held in March in Pakistan would be an opportunity for metallurgical, energy, construction and oil and gas companies to explore the immense potential in Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Councilor on Trade and commerce Abdul Razzak Dawood also addressed to the gathering.
The Prime Minister together with it is a high-level delegation on a two-day visit to the Russian Federation from 23 to 24 February 2022. Previously, the Prime Minister held a summit with President Putin in the Kremlin.
