Shadow chancellor thinks priority should not be seeking a second referendum
John McDonnell has said Labour must focus on defeating Theresa May’s EU deal and delaying Brexit to secure a better agreement, rather than trying to secure a second referendum this week.
The shadow chancellor said it was no longer the right time to seek a parliamentary vote on a second referendum on Tuesday, as the priority should be stopping May’s Brexit deal from passing.
