Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Municipality announced the closure of two restaurants in Al-Rayyan and Doha, for handling food in unhealthy conditions and unfit for consumption.
The ministry said in a tweet it posted on its Twitter account: ” Al Rayyan Municipality issued an administrative decision to close “Yasmine El Sham Kitchen” In Area (55), for a period of 15 days, for violating Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control.”.
The ministry added in another tweet: “Doha Municipality issued an administrative decision to close “Union Mandi and Bukhari Restaurant” In the Najma region, for a period of 60 days, for violating Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control.”.
The municipality called for the need to contact the unified call center on phone No. 184 to report any food violations.
According to the Ministry of Municipality’s website, determining the duration of the closure is up to the discretion of the competent municipal director, according to the type and severity of the violation, as determined by law.
The duration of the closure does not exceed 60 days at a time, and the closures multiply by repeating the violations.
It is not permissible to open a closed store, to conduct activity, or to carry out maintenance work during the closing period, and violating this will result in criminal liability.
